Since we have our formal “kilting” coming up on Monday
(2/11/13) Joe and Neal reviewed our playing the marches. (A process LONG overdue in my opinion!!)
At any rate, I played The Green Hills of Tyrol followed by
The Battle’s Over. These are staples for
us at this point.
I thought I did well, if a little fast. But Joe pointed out that my fingering was a
little rushed and I was missing some of the embellishments.
So I was going over the music today and I realized that I’d
been playing all the grips as D-throws.
What’s more, I COULDN’T REMEMBER HOW TO PLAY A GRIP! Seriously, I had to re-teach myself!
Now I gotta go back and see if I can eliminate the bad habit
from all my tunes….
